Recipe for Chicken Masala Fry
Ingredients
- 1. 2 lbs, Chicken (breast meat or leg quarters with bones)
- 2. 2 medium onions, sliced
- 3. 4 tbsp curry powder (Or 2 tsp cumin powder, 4. 2 tsp coriander powder, 1/2 tsp turmeric powder, 2 tsp chilli powder
- 5. 8 curry leaves
- 6. 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3 cloves
- 7. 1/2 inch Cinnamon stick
- 8. 1 cup yogurt
- 1 tomato
- 9. 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 10. 1/2 cup coriander leaves chopped for garnish
Cooking Directions
Cut the chicken into medium-sized pieces, clean, and add salt and the curry powder/s and marinate for 15 minutes.
Heat olive oil, fry the sliced onion, cloves and cinnamon stick.
When onion turns golden, add the chicken, curry leaves and saute for a couple of minutes.
Then add yogurt, tomato and stir a few turns and add 2 cups of water and lemon juice.
Cook till chicken is tender, add salt to taste, garnish with coriander leaves.
