Recipe for Cake Pauk

Ingredients

  • Maida - 1cup
  • Sugar - 2cups
  • Water - 1/2cup
  • Butter - 2tsp
  • Cardamom - 2nos
  • Ghee - 4tsp
  • Orange essence - few drops

Cooking Directions

Heat a pan, add maida and butter fry until the flour turns light brown and keep aside

Heat another kadai, pour water boil it and add sugar till it becomes one thread consistency(thick syrup)

Add maida, ghee(3tsp), essence and cardamom and stir well until it becomes thick paste and nonsticky

Spread one tsp of ghee in a tray and pour the above paste into itAllow it to cool for 1/2hr and cut it into desired shape

Decorate with cashew nets as topping
