Recipe for Mutton Bihari Chops
Ingredients
- Mutton chops ½ kg
- Raw papaya paste 3 tbsp
- Salt to taste
- Oil for deep fry
- Green chilies 3 – 4
- Coconut 2 tbsp (desiccated)
- Cumin seeds 1 tbsp (crushed)
- Raisin 100 gm
- Poppy seeds 1 tbsp
- Oil ¼ cup
- Ginger garlic paste 2 tbsp
- All spice 1 tsp
- Chili powder 1 tbsp
- Turmeric 1 tsp
- Coriander leaves ¼ bunch
- Lemon juice 3 tbsp
Cooking Directions
Marinate mutton chops with raw papaya paste and salt for 30 minutes.
Now deep fry marinated chops till tender.
Blend together green chilies, coconut, cumin, raisins, poppy seeds and a little water. Blend well.
Heat a little oil in a wok, add ginger garlic paste.
Fry well till golden brown.
Add in blended mixture, all spice, chili powder and turmeric. Mix well.
Now add fried chops with ½ cup of water.
Cover and cook for 8 – 10 minutes.
Now remove the lid, fry well till water dries.
Dish it out, garnish with coriander leaves and pour lemon juice on top.
Serve hot.
