• Sift Flour 2 cups
• Baking Powder 2 1/2 tsp
• salt 3/4 tsp
• Egg 1
• Sugar 2 tbsp
• Shortening(Butter) 1/2 cup
• Milk 3/4 cup
• Coarsely Cut Dates 2/3 cup
• Chocolate Chips 1/2 cup

Sift together flour,baking powder,sugar and salt into mixing bowl.

Add dates and chocolate chips.

Cut in shortening until crumbs are the size of small peas.

Make a hollow in the center.

Combine egg and milk.

Add all at once to hollow in dry ingredients.

Stir fry only until dry ingredients are just moist.

Batter will be lumpy.

Fill greased muffin pan cups 2/3 full.

Bake in 400 degree oven for 25 minutes or until done.
