Recipe for Mosaka
Ingredients
- Eggplant 2
- Onion 2
- Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
- Mince ½ kg
- Crushed red chili 2 tsp
- Salt ½ tsp
- Black pepper 1 tsp
- Tomato puree 1 cup
- Tomato boiled 3
- Butter 50 gm
- Olive oil 4 tbsp
- Ingredients for sauce:
- Butter 50 gm
- Flour 2 tbsp
- Milk 1 glass
- Egg yolk 1
- Cottage cheese 100 gm
- Cheddar cheese 100 gm
- Nutmeg a pinch
Cooking Directions
Heat oil in a pan, fry the eggplant until lightly browned and soft.
Remove from pan and add butter, ginger garlic paste, onion and mince.
Fry well till water dries.
Add chopped boiled tomatoes, red chili, salt, and tomato puree.
Fry on high flame stirring to prevent sticking.
Turn the flame off after all the water has dried.
Method for sauce:
In a pan put butter, flour, milk, egg yolk and a pinch of nutmeg.
Cook for few minutes.
Now in an oven proof dish spread mince mixture, cover with eggplant slices and carefully Pour white sauce on top.
Lastly sprinkle cottage cheese and cheddar cheese.
Bake for 30 minutes on 200 degrees.
