Recipe for Hyderabadi Mince Pie
Ingredients
- 500 gm Mince
- 1 chopped Onion
- 1 chopped Carrots
- 1/2 cup Peas
- 1/4 cup Oil
- 1 tsp Ginger crushed
- 1 tsp Garlic crushed
- 1 tsp All spice
- 1 tsp Chili powder
- 1 tsp Cumin seeds
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tbsp Curry powder
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
- 2 tbsp Tomato paste
- 2 tbsp Mint leaves
- For Mashed Potato:
- 4 Potatoes
- 1/2 cup Milk
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/4 tsp Pepper
- 2 tbsp Butter
Cooking Directions
Heat ¼ cup oil in a pan, add 1 tsp cumin seeds with 1 chopped onion and 1 tsp each chopped ginger garlic, fry till golden brown, add 500 gm mince, cook for 5 minutes.
Add 1 chopped carrots, ½ cup peas, 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp chili
powder, ¼ tsp turmeric, 1 tbsp curry powder, 1 tsp all spice, 2 tbsp tomato paste and ¼ cup water, cover and cook till mince done.
Lastly add 2 tbsp chopped mint leaves.
For Mashed Potato:
Boil 4 Potatoes in water till tender, drain, mash them well adding ½ cup milk, 2 tbsp butter, ½ tsp salt and ¼ tsp black pepper. Spread cooked mince in oven proof dish, cover
with mash potatoes.
Spread top with 1 tbsp butter, bake in oven on 180 degree C
for 15 minutes till golden in color.
Garnish with mint leaves.
