Recipe for Maash And Moong Kay Baray
Ingredients
- Black lentil 1 ½ cup
- Green split lentil ½ cup
- Maggie Umda Maza 1 sachet
- Salt ½ tsp
- Soda bi-carbonate a pinch
- Red chili powder 2 tbsp
- Mustard oil to fry
- To prepare chutney:
- Tamarind paste 250 gm
- Salt ½ tsp
- Black Salt ½ tsp
- Garlic paste 1 tsp
- Hing a pinch
- Carom seeds ½ tsp
- Mustard oil 4 tbsp
- Mint Leaves as required
Cooking Directions
Soak 1 ½ cup of black lentil and ½ cup green split lentil over night.
Now add in ½ tsp salt and a pinch soda bi carbonate.
Grind everything together and make flat round biscuits out of it.
Sprinkle 2 tbsp red chili powder and fry it in hot oil.
To prepare chutney:
Take 250 gm tamarind and soak it in 2 glasses of water then add in 1 tsp garlic paste 1 tsp garlic paste, ½ tsp salt, ½ tsp black salt and a pinch of hing.
Mix everything together.
Put the mash and moong kay baray in the tray and spread tamarind water over it.
Take 4 tbsp mustard oil and saute ½ tsp carom seeds in it and put it in the dish.
Garnish it with mint leaves and serve.
