Recipe for Italian bread
Ingredients
- All purpose flour 2 cups
- Active dry yeast 1 Tablespoon
- Sugar 1 Tablespoon
- Salt 1 1/2 teaspoon
- Rosemary leaves 1 Tablespoon (fresh or dried)
- Garlic 2 Sliced thinly
- Butter 2 Tablespoon
Cooking Directions
Take a cup of warm water and add the yeast and sugar to it.
Mix it without lumps and wait for 7-8 min until it forms bubbles.
In another bowl take the flour and add salt and warm butter to it , sprinkle the rosemary leaves , garlic and knead well for about 10 minutes.
If you are using food processor knead it for 5-6 minutes. Grease your hands with flour and sprinkle more flour if needed .
Put this in a greased bowl and cover it with a cloth about 1 hr until doubled.
Punch down the dough and knead it well for another 5 minutes and divide it into two equal parts and keep aside for 30 minutes.
Sprinkle some more rosemary leaves on top of the bread as we get it ready for baking.
