Recipe for Tater-Tot-Bake
Ingredients
- 1 lb Tater tots
- 2 lbs Ground beef, browned
- 1/4 cup Onion, chopped
- 1 can Cream of chicken soup
- 1 can Cheddar cheese soup, (can use cream of celery instead)
- 1/2 can Milk
- 6 slices American cheese
- Steak seasoning, to taste
Cooking Directions
Preheat oven to 350 and grease a 9x12 pan.
Brown the ground beef and onion. Drain excess fat. Season with steak seasoning, to your liking.
In a separate bowl, mix soups and milk together until blended.
Add soup mixture to the hamburger mixture. Mix well.
Pour half the bag of tater tots in the pan. Pour combined mixture over tater tots in the pan and top with remaining tater tots. You should end up with a tater tot/hamburger mix/tater tot layer.
Unwrap slices of cheese and fold each piece diagonally. Now, you can play Picasso. Place the triangle pieces in a pattern, if you wish, on top of the tater tot layer.
Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. I like to create a tent with the tin foil so that the cheese doesn''t stick to the foil.
Remove the foil and bake for the last 5 minutes, or until cheese slices are starting to brown.
Pull out of oven and allow to cool a few minutes before serving.
