Recipe for HAM AND EGG WAFFLES
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 Tbsp granulated white sugar
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
- 3/4 cup milk
- 8 Tbsp (1 stick) salted butter, melted
- 9 large eggs (3 raw and 6 fried to desired doneness—I suggest over easy!)
- 1 cup finely diced cooked ham
- Warm maple syrup
Cooking Directions
Preheat your waffle iron, according to manufacturer instructions.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt. In a separate, large bowl, combine the buttermilk, milk, butter, and 3 eggs; beat until well mixed.
Add the dry ingredients and stir just until combined.
Spray the preheated waffle iron with nonstick spray. Scoop the batter into your waffle iron and sprinkle ham on top.
Close the lid. The waffles should take 3 to 5 minutes to cook, depending on the type of waffle iron you have. Repeat with the remaining batter.
Serve waffles topped with a fried egg and drizzled with warm maple syrup.
