Recipe for Chocolate Cake
Ingredients
- Butter 200g
- Caster sugar 175 g
- Plain flour 200 g
- Chocolate powder 3 tbsp
- Baking powder 2 tsp
- Vanilla essence 1 tsp
- Eggs 4
- Glaze:
- Cooking chocolate (semi-sweet) 100g
- Butter 2 tbsp
- Light corn syrup 2 tbsp
- Vanilla essence 1 tsp
- Icing sugar as required
Cooking Directions
Pre-heat oven at 180 degrees. To make cake batter: Add chocolate powder and baking powder in plain flour.
Mix them all. Take butter in a bowl and add caster sugar in it.
Beat butter and sugar well. Add an egg and beat the butter mixture well.
Then add another egg and beat the mixture.
Add the other two eggs one by one and beat accordingly.
Add vanilla essence in butter mixture and beat again.
Add half chocolate powder mix and beat the mixture well.
Now add the rest chcocolate powder and beat the mixture.
Take a baking pan (8/8 inch).
Now pour the batter in the pan. Put the cake in oven for 40 minutes.
Chocolate Glaze: Add chocolate in a pan and let it melt on low flame.
Add butter, corn syrup and vanilla essence in above pan.
Now cook till the chocolate melts. Pour the glaze on the cake.
You can sprinkle icing sugar on top. Put the cake in fridge for 25 minutes.
