Recipe for Mushroom Rice

Ingredients

  • Basmathi Rice cooked- 2 cups
  • Mushrooms Thinly sliced- 1 cup
  • Spring onion- 2 bunch
  • Onion- 1 small sized
  • Garlic flakes 5-6 crushed
  • Ginger crushed- 1 inch
  • Lemon juice- 1 tsp
  • Garam masala- 1 tsp
  • Pepper – 1 tsp

Cooking Directions

Clean and slice mushrooms into thin slices. Heat one tsp of oil in a pan and stir fry mushroom for two minutes.

Add in chopped spring onions- only the green and reserve the white part.

Add in half of pepper powder and salt to taste and stir for a few seconds.

Remove from heat and set aside. In the same pan add one tsp of oil and saute ginger and garlic till its raw flavor disappears.

Add chopped onions and chopped white part or bulbs of spring onion and fry till transparent.

Add garam masala and pepper powder ( you can add one tsp of oyster sauce at this stage–optional) and now in goes the fried mushrooms and spring onions.

Add rice, salt and lemon juice and fry for another minute. Serve warm.
