Recipe for Mughal Daal
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup toovar lentil
- 1 1/2 cups chopped tomatoes
- 1/2 cup split Bengal gram
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 cup bottle gourd pieces
- 1 tsp chopped garlic
- 1 tbsp chopped green chillies
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 sliced onions
- 1 tsp grated ginger
- 4 tbsps oil
- to taste salt
Cooking Directions
Wash and soak lentils for half an hour. Drain.
Add tomatoes, bottle gourd, turmeric powder, salt and 3 cups of water and pressure cook till lentils are tender.
Heat oil in a large pan and add cumin seeds.
When seeds crackle, add the garlic, green chillies, ginger and onions and saute’ till onions turn golden brown in color.
Add cooked lentil and 1 cup of water and bring to boil.
Serve hot.
