Recipe for Chicken Shami Kebab

Ingredients

  • 500 gm boneless chicken breast
  • 1-1/2 cup gram lentils
  • 1 tsp ginger paste
  • 1 tsp garlic paste
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 10-12 red chilies pods
  • 10 black peppercorns
  • 1 inch piece of cinnamon stick
  • 2 black cardamom pods
  • 1/2 tsp coriander seeds
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • salt to taste
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • oil as required, for shallow frying

Cooking Directions

Rinse and drain chicken properly.
Wash lentils with few changes of water and soak for 30 minutes.

Take a heavy bottom skillet, place chicken , soaked lentils, all dry spices, ginger-garlic paste salt and red chili powder.

Add 3 cups of water in it. Bring to a boil, cover with a lid.

Cook on medium heat for 40 minutes or until chicken and lentils are tender.

Remove the lid, cook on high heat for 8-10 minutes or until all water absorbed.

Remove from the heat and Let allow it to cool.

After 10 minutes place chicken mixture in a chopper or food processor.

Grind chicken mixture on high for 1-2 minutes or until well combined.

Shape flat round kebabs of it.

Heat oil in a frying pan for shallow frying.
In a small bow, beat eggs.

Dip kebab in it.
Place 3 to 4 Kebabs at a time Into the pan.

Shallow fry on low heat for 4-5 minutes or until crispy and golden.
