Social media in Pakistan is dominated by the PTI, few anchors of ARY TV, and Express English newspaper. Electronic media in Pakistan is dominated heavily by the GEO TV network. Print media in Pakistan is also heavily dominated by the Jang newspaper owned by GEO administration. So if you need to get the whole picture, you need to go through all of this media. If you look at the history of both JANG/GEO/TheNews group, Mubashar Lucman, Express TV / Lakson Group, and ARY TV, Imran Khan, Zaid Hamid; you would come to know that they all pose like angels and the messiah for the society, but in fact they all have many skeletons rattling their cupboards. They all have their fair share of scandals, wrong doings and public humiliations. Right now, their battle is just a battle of power out of vengeance and greed.
Mubashar Lucman was previously in the GEO. He has also served as minister during the era of dictator Pervaiz Musharraf. He was caught off guard when an uncensored clip from his talk show got leaked in which he was bad mouthing the judges, and was doing the program for the favor of real estate tycoon Malik Riaz. His nexus with the establishment is not a secret anymore. GEO group is not new for the Pakistanis. Their tax evasion, quest for king maker role in Pakistan, and black mailings are proverbial. They are a massive power in Pakistan and they abuse that power to its full extent. You cannot really go against them. Politicians are in the pockets of this media group. They also have many generals, bureaucrats, judges and journalists on their massive payrolls. They also have very deep backing from the Western powers.
Their media rivals like Express and ARY group are also kind of not-so-clean in their own right. Express TV got a plush house with all the entertainment for the powerful and that was also exposed on the media. Their nexus in West is also well known. Whenever you mention the world gold in Pakistan, you by default think of ARY gold and that is enough to tell you heaps about the ARY group. Zaid Hamid is paid puppet of establishment, whereas Imran Khan is unpaid one. There is huge advantage for the common Pakistani from this fight between these titans of propaganda. Let them fight and we will know more truth about them. This fight has already eroded the credibility of all of them a lot, and now we know much more about them. Let them fight, let them fight so that we keep seeing their real faces.
