Komal Rizvi’s selfie with the Abdul Sattar Edhi has drawn lots of criticism lately but she is adamant. Taking selfie is kind of psychological disorder if it gets beyond control and beyond limits. Then posting it on the social media is just the manifestation of one being narcissist. Loving oneself is ok but worshiping one’s own self is silly and alarming. The hot pop singer Komal Rizvi was very quick to post her picture with the legendary ailing philanthropist Abdul Sattar Edhi and his wife Bilquis who are right now in hospital. Other TV actors like Danish Taimoor, Sohai Ali Abro and Yasir Nawaz were also in the race and they also took photos. It seemed utterly disrespectful and opportunist. The singers and actors were just posing for the cameras. Social media was right in judging and saying that there was place and time for everything and even for the selfies. These stars are following the modern culture of ‘selfie-or-it-didn’t-happen’. They may be doing good thing by visiting them, but it was very tasteless to brandish it through selfies. Look at the face of Edhi sahab and then look at face of Komal and decide for yourself.
