You cannot have all the cake and eat it too. For the last two years, Imran Khan and his party has hijacked the country on the basis of their claims that 2013 elections in Pakistan sans KP were rigged massively and systematically and so they were null and void. What happened in KP yesterday during the local bodies election under the PTI government was not only shameful but also very shocking. Dozens of people died and hundreds are injured during the violence at the polling stations. Scores of PTI males and females were caught red-handed with fake ballots or forcing people on gun point to vote for PTI candidates. In Nowshera where PTI CM Pervaiz Khattak’s brother Liaquat Khattak was contesting elections, the polling time was increased to 7pm from 5pm and nobody knows what happened during those 2 hours as all the doors were closed.
In Lower Dir Jamat e Islami rule the polling stations and nobody else was allowed to vote. Police remained apathetic and election commission was scared of PTI hooligans. The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) said that over 300 complaints had been received from district Peshawar. The complaints focused on mismanagement, rigging and firing outside polling stations in the district.Charsadda, Mardan, Swat, Pabbi, Haripur, Mansehra, Kohat, Peshawar, and throughout KP there was jungle law yesterday. Now PPP, ANP, JUI-F, and MQM are demanding of the authorities to re-organize Local Government polls under the surveillance of impartial observers in the province. If PTI accepts these local bodies election, then in comparison, the general elections of 2013 happened in utopia.
