Recipe for Saada Zafrani Pulao

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1/2 teaspoon saffron threads
  • 1 teaspoon butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup basmati rice (rinsed in cold water, then drained)

Cooking Directions

BRING the water to a boil in a medium saucepan and stir in the saffron threads, butter and salt.

ADD the rice and bring to the boil, cover, then reduce the heat to very low. SIMMER gently for 15 minutes without lifting the lid.
