Barhtey huye pyar ko us din pe waar doon,
Karte they baat baat par jab woh khafaa mujhe,

Ruswaayion ke khauf se woh kyon juda hua,
Uryaan tha us ka jism to woh pehnta mujhe,

Ghairon se poochta raha mere khuloos ko,
Barhtaa suni sunaayi se to dekhta mujhe,

Naadim hoon aik shakhss ko manoos dekh kar,
Na janey kis kheyal se chaha geya mujhe,

Ussi shauq se main aap gir paraa,
Jab yeh suna ke “thaamna saaqi zara mujhe”..
