Haan jesay chahtey thay wo qurbat nahi mili,
Milnay ko zindagi mai kayi humsafar milay,
Lekin tabiyatton say tabiyatt nahi mili,
Chehron kay har hajoom mein hum dhondtay rahey,
Surat nahi mili tu kahin seerat nahi mili,
Wo yak-ba-yak mila to bohat dair tak hamien,
Alfaaz dhoöndnay ki bhi mohlat nahi mili,
Har shakhs zindgi mai bohat dair se mila,
koi bhi cheez hasb-e-zaroorat nahi mili.
