Recipe for Lahori Steamed Charga
Ingredients
- Whole Chicken 1 kg
- Salt to taste
- Garlic & ginger paste 2 tbs
- Plain yogurt 1/2 cup
- Roasted coriander seed crushed 1/2 tsp
- Roasted cumin seed crushed 1/2 tsp
- Roasted black pepper 1/2 tsp
- Lemon juice 2 tbs
- Orange color as needed
- Oil 2 tbs
- Oil for frying 1 liter
Cooking Directions
Take whole chicken, for marinating take a bowl, plain yogurt, ginger & garlic paste, roasted coriander seeds crushed, roasted cumin seeds crushed, black peeper crushed, lemon juice, oil, salt & orange color.
Mix the material well, marinade the whole chicken into the marination sauce, and leave it for ½ hour.
Take a wok, put oil in it , as the oil get hot at medium heat, put the marinated chicken into the hot oil to fry.
Now as the chicken is fried, remove it from the fire.
While all this steps are done, put the steamer on the fire to get hot & the steam is formed.
Put the fried whole chicken into the steamer to get steamed.
Let it get cook for ½ hour.
Remove it from the steamer; serve it on a platter with hot Nan bread & Rita.
