Recipe for Spaghetti In Red Sauce
Ingredients
- Spaghetti 1 packet
- Spaghetti sauce 2 cups
- Pepperoni sliced 2-3
- Black olives sliced 5-6
- Mushrooms sliced 8 ounce
- Mozzarella cheese shredded 8 ounces
- Ingredients for Spaghetti Sauce:
- Olive oil 1 tbsp
- Onion chopped 1
- Garlic chopped 1 clove
- Tomatoes (peeled & diced) 4-5
- Ketchup 2 tbsp
- Tomato paste 2 tbsp
- Sugar 1 tsp
- Dried oregano ½ tsp
- Salt ¼ tsp
Cooking Directions
Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium-high heat.
Add onion and garlic and cook 2 to 4 minutes, mix in diced tomatoes, tomato paste, ketchup, sugar, oregano and salt.
Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer 15 to 20 minutes or until flavors are blended, stirring frequently.
Method for Spaghetti:
Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil.
Cook spaghetti in the boiling water, stirring occasionally until cooked through but firm to the bite, about 12 minutes.
Drain and transfer to a serving dish.
Stir spaghetti sauce into pasta until coated; add pepperoni, olives, and mushrooms on top of spaghetti.
Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese whilst hot.
