Recipe for Punjabi style Masala Bhindi
Ingredients
- Okra(Lady’s finger), bhindi, bhinda- cut in round shape- fresh ones preferable- 1 big bowl
- Chopped onions-1/2 cup
- Chopped bell peppers-1/2 cup
- Garlic- 2-3 cloves- finely minced
- Salt to taste
- Garam MAsala
- Sugar to taste(optional)
- Red chili powder-1 tbsp
- Coriander powder-1 tbsp
- Turmeric- just skight pinch
- OIl- 2 -3 tbsp
- Cumin seeds-2 tbsp
- Asafetida
- Coriander leaves to garnish
- 1 tbsp of Bengal gram flour (optional)
Cooking Directions
Take a pan, lit the stove and add oil to it Add cumin seeds and let them start popping
Once that happens, add asafetida, turmeric powder, garlic and onions
Let them cook on medium flame and once its golden brown
Add bell peppers and let it cookOnce all of these cooks, add okras and let them fry
Add lemon drops to this to remove the stickiness of okras
Then once its cooked, add salt, red chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala, 1 tbsp of gram flour and slight sugar
Mix this well, add tomatoes on top Let this simmer for sometime and garnish with coriander leaves Serve hot with garam fulkas.
