Recipe for Mash Ki Daal Kay Dahi Baray
Ingredients
- White lentils 1 cup
- Salt ¼ tsp
- Baking soda 1 pinch
- Yogurt 2 cup (whisked)
- Fresh coriander 2 tbsp (chopped)
- White cumin 1 tsp (roasted and powder)
- Ginger ½ inch piece (chopped)
- Red chillies powder 2 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Oil for frying.
Cooking Directions
Wash lentils and soak overnight, drain water and grind.
Add salt and baking soda, mix well and leave aside.
Heat oil in a wok, take spoonfuls of mixture and fry dumplings till golden.
Soak the fried dumplings in warm water for 10 minutes.
Now lightly press the dumplings between your palms to squeeze out water and arrange them neatly in a serving dish.
Add salt, red chillies, ginger, cumin and fresh coriander in yogurt, mix well and pour on baray.
Garnish delicious dahi baray with tamarind chutney and fresh coriander and serve.
