Recipe for Chocolate Wheat Cookies

Ingredients

  • Butter 1/3 cup
  • Raw crystal sugar 7 tbsp
  • Egg 1
  • Wheatgerm 1 ounce
  • Whole wheat self rising flour 1 cup
  • self rising flour(sifted) 1/2 cup
  • Chocolate 4, 1/2 ounces

Cooking Directions

Lightly grease a cookie sheet.
Beat the butter and sugar until smooth and light.
Add the egg and beat well.
Stir in the wheatgerm and flours.
Bring the mixture together with your hands.
Roll heaping teaspoon of the mixture into balls and place on the prepared cookie sheet, allowing room for the cookies to spread during cooking.
Flatten the cookies slightly with a fork.
Bake in a preheated oven at 350F for 15-20 minutes, until golden.
Cool on the cookie sheet for a few minutes before transferring the cookies to a wire rack to cool completely.
Melt the chocolate, then dip each cookie in the chocolate to cover the base and come a little way up the sides.
Let the excess drip back into the bowl.
Place the cookies, chocolate side up, on a sheet of baking parchment and allow to set in a cool place before serving.
