Recipe for Apple and Blackberry Crumble
Ingredients
- About 3-4 cooking apples, cored and sliced
- 1 cup blackberries
- Juice of 1 orange
- about 1 tbsp of Orange zest
- For the topping 1 1/2 cup whole wheat pastry flour,sifted
- 5 tbsp butter, cut into cubes
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup Hazelnuts, chopped
- 1 tsp cardamom powder
Cooking Directions
Preheat Oven to 400F. Scatter the apples in a well greased baking dish. Then scatter with blackberries.Top it with orange zest.
Now sprinkle the Brown sugar evenly all over the fruit and the pour down the orange juice. Set it aside.
Now mix all the ingredients of the topping in another bowl until the mixture starts resembling like coarse bread crumbs.
Now scatter this on top of the fruit.
Press the topping around the edges to seal in the juices. Bake for 30-35 min or until the crumble is golden. Serve with ice cream or vanilla custard. Yum:)
