Deeba is a Pakistani film actress and one of the leading film heroines during 1960s and 1970s. Deeba's real name is Raheela. She was one of the iconic film actresses during 1960s and 1970s. She is well known for her romantic tragic roles in Urdu and Punjabi films. She started her career as an actress in Charagh jalta raha. Her performances in several films, such as Milan (1964), Aina (1966), Payal ki jhankar (1966), Sangdil (1968), Dard (1969), Sajna door diya (1970), Neend hamarey khuwab tumharey (1971), Ansoo (1971) and Perdes (1972), have won her much critical acclaim. She had also received Nigar Award in the best actress category for the film Sajna door diya (Punjabi film) in 1970. She is also well known for her smiling face and innocent look and is famously known as 'Pakistani Mona Lisa'

Film career
Deeba started her film career as a child star in Faisla in 1959. As an actor, she starred in Chiragh jalta raha in 1962. During 1960s she had given breakthrough performances in many films (excluding Chiragh jalta raha) like Khamosh raho (1964), Milan (1964), Sartaj (1965), Zameen (1965), Aina (1966), Hum dono (1966), Payal ki jhankar (1966), Phir subha hogi (1967), Doraha (1967), Zinda laash (1967), Sangdil (1968), Behan bhai (1968), Dard (1969), Ishaara (1969), Sajna door diya (1970), Afsana (1970) and Anjuman (1970). Sajna door diya was her first Punjabi film.

During 1970s, she had been cast in the movies like Neend hamarey khuwab tumharey (1971), Ansoo (1971), Perdes (1972), Ek raat (1972), Laila majnu (1973), Shama (1974), Shikwa (1975), Saajan rang rangeela (1975), Ajnabi (1975), Jageer (1975), Kharidar (1976), Paristish (1977), Mohabbat mar nahin sakti (1977), Roti kapra aur insaan (1977), Ehtajaj (1978) and Zameer (1980).

During 1980s, that is during the period of downfall of Pakistani film industry, she was shifted to Dammam, Saudi Arabia. During 1980s, she starred in only five films, that is, Athra te jeedar (Punjabi) (1981), Qurbani (1981), Rab te maa (Punjabi) (1981), Doye daku (Pushto) (1987) and Karaye kay qatil (1989). Doye daku was the only Pushto film in her entire career, with opposite actor Mohammad Ali. During 1980s, Qurbani was her only successful movie on box office.

During 1960s to 1980s she had worked with actors like Waheed Murad, Nadeem, Mohammad Ali, Kamal, Habib, Ejaz, Shahid, Rangeela, Sultan Rahi and Ghulam Mohiuddin.

During early 1990s, she came back to Pakistan and restarted her film career with old characters. But most of her movies did not became successful on the box office. Sargam (1995) and Choorian (Punjabi) (1998) were her blockbuster films during 1990s.

During 2000s, she had been cast in only two films, Sapne apne apne and Salakhein (2004). Salakhain became a successful film on the box office.
