As a Pakistani, my heart is singing with mirth and bliss as one of my country’s state institution which was almost dead has at least earned profit. Yes, my fellow countrymen, it’s Pakistan’s Railways which has now come off the ventilator and is now showing strong vital signs. Not long ago, there was all gloom and doom on the tracks of Rail, but it’s a different story now.
In their press release, Pakistan Railways has posted that it has earned Rs2.92 billion during two months due to its pro-passenger policies through introducing discount rates for them in trains. That and they have started sealing the leak valves of corruption and a strict check has been kept on the staff. This all has happened due to the tireless and unstoppable efforts of Railways minister Khawaja Saad Rafique. and it has taken just two months. KSR, as lovingly called by his fans, the Khawaja Saad Rafique is sleeping in the railways station and working like a laborer. He has produced a spark which is traveling on the tracks from Karachi to Khyber and reinvigorating this dilapidated state organ.
Ghulam Bilour of ANP, the former minister had spared on stone unturned to plunder this outfit and it was virtually dead. There was no hope and even nobody was willing to buy this terminally ill state organ. But Saad Rafique with meager resources but with steely resolve, sheer hard work, and honest intentions overhauled the Railways in two months. He learned lessons from across the world and implemented best practices. He is leading from the front. There needs lots to be done, lots. And we are sure that InshAllah he will be the victor. Thanks for this good news, KSR.
