It’s not that Pakistan’s problem’s are as complex as equivalent of unsolvable. The state is organized at one social contract, which is called as constitution. The state is the guardian of all the populace of the country and provides justice among the masses. After that comes everything else. Pakistan’s root cause is state’s failure to ensure a just society. That is why terrorist groups flourish, and that is why there is unrest in various areas. State is like mother. This mother like state can only materialize in Pakistan if the state organs work in harmony on pre-defined rules, and their holistic goal should be to ensure the safety and security of the people. This can only be guaranteed by following the law and constitution in its letter and spirit and by harmonic integrity of state organs.
What is a state? It’s not merely the Prime Minister and his cabinet. After elections we change Prime Minister and his cabinet and then expect that everything else will change. State is more than that. State is combination of Police, Tax collection system, judiciary, local bodies, military, bureaucracy, industry, and media. By changing the executive won’t achieve anything. Until and unless all the other state organs are revamped, change won’t come. Our state organs like Police and FBR are dysfunctional. We don’t have local bodies system at all. Our bureaucracy is rusted and infected badly by the red tape. Our military has become a white elephant out of control of anybody. Judiciary only shines for the media and plays for the gallery. Media is corrupt, pretentious, and damaging. Nothing really is working here, and there is no wonder we have a dysfunctional state. For the last 12 years, we have failed to control the terrorists. Our economy is nose diving and we are short of energy. The reason for this is that state has failed to act like a state. There is no unified policy for these issues. So until and unless, we get a functional and vibrant state, there is no chance of improvement.
