Whereas, I am proud to be a Pakistani, but some times it’s hard to ignore and let alone not laugh on things what we Pakistanis do. To be precise it’s not only Pakistan, but all of the subcontinent; India and Bangladesh, where there this, typical thinking prevails. It’s only that in Pakistan, it victimizes about 80% of your entire population. So today I’d like to throw a little light, not much, due to the current electricity issues* Curses WAPDA and Raja Rental, while typing* on TYPICAL PAKISTANI MENTALITY
HARAM AND HALAL
It will be quite obnoxious to say that Gods thunderbolt will strike like a drone on America due to all the clubbing, gambling, liquor and drugs. Wait a minute, why not here in Pakistan? Because we all know the kind of dance parties we have here, the liquor that flows in them and drug availability being easier than buying a condom from a medical store. But after doing all this, we have the guts to say, a girl sitting with a boy? HARAM !! HARAM!! HARAM!! . All of us have our own book, which categorizes Haram and Halal, according to our own needs. Doing alcohol, drugs and prostitution isn’t HARAM, but missing on prayers, well you will definitely burn in the dungeons of hell.
A girl and a boy
The classic thinking of average Pakistanis, when they see a guy and gal sitting in a café or in a car…. “ Boss Pakka scene on hai, dekh tu sae kesay has has kar baatein kar rhay hain” . Its kind off a thumb rule that, they have to be boyfriend/girlfriend to sit along; friends are only of the same gender. And it’s impossible for a girl to go out with her coworker, cousin and brother alone, it’s always definitely the boyfriend in the car or in the café.
The MUSALMAN factor
Since we are Muslims, it is necessary for God to be on our side against the infidels and whether it is cricket or war, the other side is always the Infidel and we are definitely going to crush them. God doesn’t see the honesty, righteousness and truthfulness of a nation, he only sees the MUSLIM label we have printed on our foreheads. But if this was the case we wouldn’t have lost two wars and plenty cricket matches.
Urdu ewww Paindooozzz
It was just a couple of days back that I was sitting with my cousin at Gloria Jeans defence, when it apparently struck me that I was the odd one out, having a conversation in Urdu. The wanna-be culture has prevailed so much, that you are outcaste as a Paindoo or Illiterate if your not good at communicating in English. And the broken urdu you speak is kind off cute and signifies that you belong to a class. Ironic most of your bureaucrats or PhD scholars are the ones with poor English, and I am definitely sure their brain size is bigger than the wanna be peanut sized brain.
Envy Factor
If someone owns a Mercedes and lives in luxurious house, then “ Usaad pakki haram ki kamai hai Haram ki”. Yes in an under developed country like our, with a debt of 160 billion $ on our heads, it’s hard to digest the fact that we can enjoy such luxuries, but not all people are same. If a Doctor, Engineer, Lawyer, Businessman is good at what he does and works hard for his excellence, he can score all this in a more legitimate manner, Haram isn’t the only way to get all this.
Working Women
All the aunties want the so called “ Parhi Likhi bahu” for their laals. But if that girl wishes to pursue a career, than definitely she isn’t the right girl of choice. The idea that a working woman is that she can’t be a good wife and definitely bound to have office affairs. So if a zookeeper is all you wish to have, for your sons little animals, than a PhD scholar isn’t what you’re looking for. Instead you are wasting a fine mind that could benefit mankind in the long run. This is the 21st century and keeping in view Jinnah’s statements, women should stand by their men, to contribute for the prospect of this country and not to waste their lives washing dishes and cooking meals. Yes these are necessary duties, but not something that can’t be done alongside a career.
