Majority of Pakistanis said they have never been to a library because they never had a reason to, a recent survey has revealed.
In a survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, a nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked “What is the reason for you not going to a library?” The question was preceded by another question asking respondents whether they have ever been to a library.
Responding to this, from those who said they have never been to a library, 77 percent said they never had a reason to go to a library and 20 percent said they do not have a library in their locality. However, 3 percent did not give a response.
The survey was carried out among a sample of 2679 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during November 11, 2012 – November 17, 2012.
