Pakistan’s private television channels telecast special programs as the holy month of Ramazan begins. In their early days private television channels tried to follow the trends set up by the state run Pakistan Television (PTV) but gradually adopted a new policy compatible with new trends.
The point here I want to make is that Dunya News newscasters had been wearing Dupatta in this Ramazan for the first five days of the holy month.
On Friday its newscaster, during midday bulletin, appeared without Dopatta, who for the first five days gave a look of an air hostess while wearing Dupatta.
The question which bothers me, is what made the newscasters, for the first five days of Ramazan, to adopt Islamic look and what forced them to shun the idea of wearing such thing?
The TV channels are busying in adopting everything which may earn them ratings either by putting film stars, stage dancers and singers in their Ramazan transmission.
It seems managements of the private TV channels work without any policy and plan.
