The deep sea port Gowader is supposedly to be connected through two routes; Eastern Route and Western Route. The eastern route will be passed through Makran Costal Highway, Karachi, Hyderabad, Sucker, Multan, Lahore, Islamabad, Mansehra, Thakot, Raikot to Khunjarab and the Western will be passed through Gowader, Turbat, Bismah, Surab, Qalat, Quetta, Zhob & Dera Ismail Khan, Bannu, Kohat, Peshawar Islamabad, onward. What’s the actual game-plane, PM, Nawaz Sharif & his courtier Federal Minister, Ahsan Iqbal are playing; To construct the real CPEC Eastern Route as dual carriageway 8 lane Road, 4 each & connect Lahore with Karachi in the guise of Lahore-Karachi Motorway. Gowader is almost & already connected with Karachi via Makran Costal Highway which does exist already.
And also to keep on constructing the ‘Lollipop’ Western Route on snail’s pace as a single carriageway, simply to pacify, as 2 lane road, 1 each, which is if constructed would not be capable to be used for multi axils heavy trailers. Now Nawaz Sharif ‘s great game is clear & loud, for not only the real CPEC Eastern Route would interconnect almost all mega cities of Punjab on one hand but the allied industries & facilities shall also be automatically constructed on the real CPEC Eastern Route as corollary for obvious reasons on the other. And so with exception of a small portion of the Eastern Route; Havilian-Thakot Highway Section, most of the eastern route will be passed through Sindh & Punjab, right from Karachi to Islamabad. One should not necessarily raise objection against the eastern route, however the real issue is that the Western Route must also be constructed as dual carriageway, 8 lane Road, 4 each under the same standard parameters as the eastern route is being constructed, it will solve many other problems itself. However keeping in view the capacity and sincerity of KP and Balochistan leadership, my heart falls down.
