Umar Cheema of The News is claiming to have scoop of the decade with the name of Panama Leaks. The guy says that he has coordinated with the international newspapers and has exposed an international scandal of very high magnitude which covers head of states, highly rated actors, businessmen and various others. The findings are based on a year-long investigation of The News that obtained access to the otherwise best-kept secrets of the world, thanks to the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists and German newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung. Umar Cheema is a member of the ICIJ that partnered with more than 100 media organisations from 76 countries to review 11.5 million secret files that a whistleblower leaked to Süddeutsche Zeitung.
The top name in Pakistan is being of current Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his family. His son Hussain Nawaz has already told in an interview that he owns the offshore companies and there is nothing illegal about it and they haven’t done a crime. But PTI and hawaldar anchors are using it to bash the government and Imran Khan has even announced yet another sit-in. It seems that establishment is getting active again. Nawaz Sharif and Raheel Sharif are not on good terms lately and this might be resultant of that. This might be for the extension or to keep the government tight.
