It’s a moment of immense pride for the nation. After obtaining nuclear capabilities, creation and selling of JF-17 planes is the second biggest feat our nation has achieved. The signing of this deal with Sri Lanka ushered a new era of strategic balance in the region. The market for modern fighter jets is huge and wide. From African countries to the Latin America, and from Far East to Middle East; inquiries about JF-17 are pouring in with lots of interest and intent. There is huge potential out there and that is not without reason.
American fighter planes are very expensive and rules to buy them are pretty stringent hence not every nation can go and get them. Russian war planes are low in quality, bulky and not that modern. But JF-17 is not only economical in terms of price, but it’s quality is far superior and matches American technology. JF-17 has proven case studies and Pakistan also offers cheap service option with the planes with ready spare parts. The life and age of the plane also surpasses it’s competitors. It is learned that Indian is not happy with this deal of Sri Lanka with Pakistan and they were pressurizing Colombo to buy their planes. Sri Lanka refused and told them how could they buy Indian war planes when even Indian air force wasn’t using them. Pakistan should extend it’s market which holds lots of potential in the future.
