Save Asif Ali Zardari or Save Karachi

It all boils down to this simple yet very crucial question; Save Zardari or save Karachi. Sindh government of Pakistan People’s Party has made it’s decision and they are bent on saving Zardari, their head. Now federal government and establishment have to come clear on their answer. People say that why rangers are targeting the corruption matters and why don’t they just keep doing operation against the target killers and extortionists? The difference between corruption and violence in Karachi is impossible to differentiate as they are tightly intertwined in a complex manner. Corrupt elements protect and provide for the violent elements for their protection and clout, whereas violent elements are dependent upon corrupt people for their protection from law.

Save Zardari or Save Karachi

Sindh government of PPP is hallmark of corruption and inefficiency. They have been dong that for such a long time that they are unable to let go of it. Their stakes have become so much cemented in Karachi as their corrupt tentacles reach deep and far. Now whenever rangers strike at the root cause of violence and crime in Karachi, they encounter a mini-don of PPP or MQM or ANP. All these mini-dons reach out to mega fish like Dr. Asim whose ultimate boss is Asif Zardari. Almost all MPAs and MNAs of PPP in Sindh are corrupt including the chief minister. They have all been looting and plundering the province with both hands ruthlessly for the last 7 years. That is why they all have become one and supporting Zardari. It’s the matter of life and death for them. If Dr. Asim goes down, Zardari goes down too and all these mini-dons would drown with them. One hopes that Dr. Asim does go down.
