He is very clever. So much clever that even spineless party like MQM got rid of it after making him their MNA. Normally if you leave MQM, you leave country too otherwise you always remain on the run. But Aamir Liaquat is that rare lucky specie who not only left MQM but also remained in Karachi and thrived. After politics, Aamir Liaquat joined media and became a star overnight. He can sing, he can evoke religious emotions at whim, he can rattle on verses at moment notice and he creates a matchless drama. He can speak for hours and he has the gift of enticing audience and that brings highest ratings, which directly translates into millions of rupees per day. No wonder that right now Aamir Liaquat is the highest paid media person in Pakistan right now.
All of a sudden, Aamir Liaquat has started appearing in TV talk shows as political analyst and has started defending MQM. He is literally biting and fighting with others. People are amazed at such change but then those who know Aamir are not surprised at all. He is vying for mayorship of Karachi as MQM has won local bodies elections. Aamir Liaquat Hussain has himself telephoned Altaf Hussain and has offered him that if he is made mayor, he would do 3 things within days for MQM: Renewed best relations with establishment which means Altaf Hussain won’t be disturbed in London for Imran Farooq case and some other cases. It would MQM life lot easier for MQM. 180 degree change in image of MQM in media as Aamir would use his media charm to woo people. Wipe out PTI and other parties from Karachi forever. The offer is very mouth-watering for Altaf Hussain but local rabta committee of MQM is appalled. That is why Farooq Sattar and Waseem Akhtar have gone running to London. So don’t be surprised if you hear that Aamir Liaquat has become mayor of Karachi.
