NAB to be Clipped by Parliament

National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has lately become tool in the hands of establishment to scare the politicians. Along with FIA and Rangers, NAB has put new scares about derailment of democracy in Pakistan which has seen such things happening too often. It’s not easy at all to describe this. What NAB nabbed in Karachi was justified to be fair. PPP has broken all records of corruption in the Sindh province. Zardari, Gilani, Raja Pervaiz, Qaim and almost whole leadership of PPP in Sindh and most in Punjab is corrupt to the core. But then things took suspicious turn with allegations of terror financing by PPP. They are corrupt but they are not terror financiers for sure. Dr. Asim should be arrested for corruption but not for giving funds to the banned outfits. That doesn’t make sense.

NAB to be Clipped by Parliament

Hyper-activism of NAB and FIA and shift of Rangers’ focus from capturing violence in Karachi towards corruption coincided with many hawaldar anchors belittling politicians and giving angel status to the army chief Raheel Sharif. Many channels and anchors were found creating a vibe where it was looking that the only savior is Raheel and all politicians are corrupt and should be arrested and hanged. That harmed NAP a lot which is national action plan to curb terrorism. Karachi operation took a hit too. PPP has withdrawn its support completely and now PML-N is apprehensive. ANP, JUI-F, nationalist parties are also at the sidelines. PTI is also trying to leverage this to de-seat Nawaz. Let’s first eliminate terrorism and make Karachi peaceful and then focus on corruption.
