Leading land grabber and property tycoon of Pakistan Malik Riaz seems to have enough of it. With ill-gotten money, various types of vultures surround the owner of it. Malik Riaz has been under the patronage of powerful people by keeping them happy, but now it seems even he is fed up. Starting from rags and reaching to riches of unprecedented levels in Pakistan, Malik Riaz has opened numerous real estate towns across Pakistan with the name of Bahria Town. The name Bahria means Navy in English, but it has nothing to do with the Pakistan Navy, though Malik has ensured that influential people in Navy as well as other armed forces, politicians, bureaucrats, judges, and police officers get the prime plots for free.
Starting from Islamabad, Malik Riaz has now opened up Bahria towns in Lahore and Karachi and he plans to expand his empire to other cities. His tactics are time tested. He buys the local thugs and ask them to grab the land for him. These thugs either pay measly prices of land to owners or just shoo them away. They also buy out local police and authorities including patwaris and session judges. Local MNA and MPA also get their cut. Malik Riaz makes billions every month and its no exaggeration. Naturally, there are some powerful people out there who doesn’t just want to get satisfied on prime plots or occasional gifts. They want cut in every transaction or a monthly stipend at least. So Malik Riaz has to pay up. It seems that he has been paying up 3 big sharks their cut for the last many years and now has threatened to expose them. What’s your guess, who are they?
