Higher Education Commission published the list of ranking for the universities of Pakistan for the year 2014-2015, the list has been published after a delay of one year and the Chair person HEC Dr Mukhtar Ahmad also admitted the fact that the report of ranking published in 2013 has some errors. Dr Mukhtar Ahmad said that, ““After much effort, the herculean task of collecting, analysing and the final evaluation for the new ranking was made possible.This time we have tried our best to overcome all technical statistical bias”
The ranking included 120 universities present prior to June 30, 2009. Nineteen universities which got awarded with charter after June 30, 2009,are not included in the list.Allama Iqbal Open University and Virtual University did not provide the complete data and were excluded from the ranking list for providing incomplete data. The HEC rankings for the top Universities of Pakistan were based on the teaching quality, implementation status of quality assurance, research produced at the universities, finance and facilities for community development and social integration.
