MQM is already under the wrath of establishment and the PML-N government. The media warriors on the payroll of Pindi and Islamabad which comprise 90% of electronic media sparing no chance to malign the Muttahida Qaumi Movement and its leader Altaf Hussain. At this point, PTI has golden chance to strike at MQM in cheap ways and that’s what they did in Jinnah ground yesterday. PTI knows that right now everyone is against MQM so create a ruckus in MQM heartland and media will take care of the rest. So Imran Ismail, the PTI candidate and Imran Khan’s closet friend (talk about nepotism) reached the Jinnah ground with his gang of thugs where they tore posters of Altaf Hussain and disrespected the ‘martyrs memorial’.
No matter what the media says or so-called political analysts harp about, Azizabad area of Karachi is core of MQM and every house and shop loves Altaf Hussain. They are diehard Altafists as they call themselves. MQM didn’t have to tell them to get angry when they saw PTI goons disparaging their leader’s marks. The acts of vandalism committed by PTI’s Imran Ismail and his followers are highly condemnable. They know that they cannot win the election from that constituency in 100 years even with the support of angels. Even there is no Pasha at this time to rescue them. That is why they have resorted to such theatrics. They know that when they will insult MQM, the emotional crowd of that area will react and that way they will start playing victim. That is why happened yesterday.
PTI is trying to pretend that MQM has stopped them from holding public rally on 19th April in Jinnah ground. That is another sham allegation. MQM has only suggested to not to hold rally there because of sensitivity of that area and to ensure safety of PTI leaders. The reason is that PTI leader Imran Khan has abused MQM and its leadership numerous times along with various other leaders of PTI. PTI has also approached Gulberg police in Karachi to register a First Information Report (FIR) against Altaf Hussain for Jinnah ground incident. This has created mass anger in the area and instead of calming things down, PTI is fanning the flames.
