International Cricket Council (ICC) has shown time and again that they are the biggest hurdle to bring some excitement and warmth in the otherwise long and boring game of Cricket. Due to restrictive policies of ICC, Cricket has never been able to gain any global popularity. Now in a recent episode, the cricketing fans from all over the world enjoying an altercation between Pakistan’s pacer Wahab Riaz and Australia’s all rounder Shane Watson. In this altercation on the ground, Wahab and Watson engaged in a spectacular contest with ball and bat with touch of flying kisses, clapping and quips.
But ICC didn’t like it and fined both Wahab and Watson. It was a ridiculous decision and many Cricketing experts criticized the decision. Brian Lara, the magnificent West Indian batsman has slammed ICC for such action and has offered to pay the fine of Wahab. He has said to NDTV in an interview that everybody enjoyed the spell of Wahab and Watson was looking like a school boy and ICC shouldn’t have fined him. This is not the first time ICC has done such a blunder. They have shown this strange attitude with numerous players and have really eclipsed the beauty of the game. It’s already becoming a batsman game with the introduction of Twenty20 and bowlers are still being fined. ICC should let the fans enjoy and stop being a policeman.
