PPP is virtually a dead party. Confined to rural Sindh, it has no future especially under Asif Ali Zardari, who is severely disliked by the Pakistanis. Even his son, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has failed to leave any mark and the recent tussle between father and son has left party orphan. By sheer luck and courtesy to the Pakistani establishment’s weird games, Asif Ali Zardari became president of Pakistan after the assassination of his wife Benazir Bhutto. It was a very unfortunate era for Pakistan as it lagged behind in every sense. Zardari damaged the country from every side just to prolong his tenure. He appointed corrupt and incompetent people. He sold the slots in government and did everything nefarious to keep the establishment happy. He even made Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi deputy Prime Minister.
This Pervaiz Elahi is that person which was named by Zardari’s slain wife in her last letter as a suspect if anything untoward happened to her. Zardari did nothing to apprehend the killers of his wife. That has alienated PPP even in Sindh, where people have grown fed up of this. The performance of PPP in Sindh has proven last nail. Karachi is already gone to PTI and to MQM, whereas PPP has been wiped out from KPK, Balochistan, and Punjab. In rural Sindh, PTI can easily win the disgruntled voters if Imran Khan shows some common sense. Even Musharraf can gain footing there. After watching this, Zulfikar Mirza the PPP leader and fast friend of Zardari has ditched the Zardari and is trying to make a forward block in PPP. To his chagrin, despite of him being presenting himself in public market, there are no takers or buyers. That shows the worthless value of PPP leaders. They have nowhere to go.
