It’s to the credit of Najam Sethi and then now the chairman PCB Shaharyar Khan to make sure that Kenyan team arrives in Lahore to play Cricket. This is happening after 5 long and painful years that any team (other than Afghanistan) has come over to Pakistan. Special thanks goes to the Kenyan team for putting in Cricket first and accepting our request to play here. Kenyan nation and their board also deserve a round of applause for coming over. We the Pakistanis would never forget this favor and will always respect and treasure this. It’s good that president level security is being provided to the guest team and they are being treated as princes. And why not. They are helping us revive our beloved game and we are so indebted to them. We will spare no expense to make sure that they feel secure, safe, and at home. Kenya becomes special too because recently Ireland canceled its visit. Pakistan finalized a short limited-over series with Ireland in September this year but had to cancel it after a attack on Karachi airport. Before it, Bangladesh has been refusing to come and canceled on two occasions. India was invited too many times but they refused. Kenya will be playing five one-day matches against Pakistan A, and the matches will be opened for the spectators and PCB is expecting a large crowd because people are thirsty for the Cricket and they want to see teams playing and they want to enjoy the game. One hopes that other teams will come too.
