I am not your voter, but I am not supporter of mobocracy. If Imran Khan and Tahir ul Qadri can bring out 50,000 people on D-Chowk and then threaten Prime Minister to resign and government to go, then tomorrow anyone can do that, and some have hinted at that too. Jan Achakzai, spokesperson of Maulana Fazlur Rehman of JUI-F has said that their party has around 80 Madaris around Rawalpindi, Islamabad and they can bring 80,000 people out on one day notice. He asked that why shouldn’t they bring them out and stage sit-in in D-Chowk and demand for Shariah implementation in Pakistan? The precedence which Imran Khan is setting is very dangerous. It seems that he has gone out of his mind and in his sheer anger is asking for trouble. He himself has sent his own sons to England before the long march, and now leading kids of others towards a confrontation. He is violating his given word, written accords, and is bent on causing trouble. His demands are changing and the crux of his demand is that he wants to be the Prime Minister come what may by hook or by crook.
Another person who is equally destructive and dangerous is Tahir ul Qadri who commands blind followers of around 30,000 who are charged up against the government. When coming from Canada, Qadri’s intentions were different, but Punjab government made a blunder and gave him plausible cause of 14 corpses on which Qadri has become a formidable force now. He is asking blood for the blood. MQM daily shots down more than 14 people in Karachi, but Qadri or Imran never worried about them. Musharraf killed and sold thousands of Pakistanis and both Qadri and Imran never minded it. Shahbaz Sharif may resign due to this, but that won’t satiate either Qadri or Imran because that’s not they are after. The way all of a sudden, Imran and Qadri joined there marches with same timing, same route, and same demand proves that somebody somewhere is synchronizing, managing, and calling the shots for both of them. That somebody is not willing to forgive Nawaz Sharif for not letting Musharraf go and for not kowtowing in front of them. Nawaz Sharif you didn’t resign in front of Musharraf, and you must not resign to Mobocracy, come what may. Whatever happens now, Imran Khan’s real crime is that he has weakened democracy, a democratic government and has thrown it to establishment’s mercy.
