Recipe for Haray Masalay Waly Chanay
Ingredients
- Chickpeas boiled 1 cup
- Lemon juice 2 tsp
- Tamarind paste ½ cup
- Tomato 1
- Onion 1
- Coriander leaves ¼ bunch
- Mint leaves ¼ bunch
- Green chilies 3 – 4
- Oil 2 – 3 tbsp
- Salt to taste
- Crushed red pepper ½ tsp
- Dry mango powder ½ tsp
- Chaat masala½ tsp
Cooking Directions
Grind together ¼ bunch of coriander leaves, ¼ bunch of mint leave and 3 – 4 green chilies.
In a pan heat 2 – 3 tbsp oil, add in 1 chopped onion, sauté for a few minutes.
Add 1 chopped tomato, prepared green paste, salt to taste, ½ tsp crushed red pepper, ½ tsp dry mango powder and ½ tsp chaat masala. Fry very well.
Then add ½ cup tamarind pulp and cook for a few minutes.
Lastly add 1 cup boiled chickpeas and fry for a few minutes.
Then remove from fire and dish it out.Sprinkle with 2 tsp lemon juice and serve hot.
