Recipe for Deep Pan Pizza

Ingredients

  • Mozzarella and Cheddar (for each pizza) 100 gm
  • For Dough:
  • Warm Water (105 F) 1, 1/3 cup
  • Milk 1/4 cup
  • Salt 1/2 tsp
  • Flour 4 cup
  • Sugar 2 tbsp
  • Dry Yeast 2 tbsp
  • Oil (for dough) 2 tbsp
  • Oil (for each pan) 60 gm
  • For Sauce:
  • Fresh Ripe Tomatoes 500 gm
  • Dry Oregano 1 tsp
  • Fresh Basil 1 tbsp
  • Salt 1 tsp
  • Sugar 1 tbsp
  • Black Pepper Powder 1/4 tsp

Cooking Directions

In a large bowl put yeast, sugar, salt, milk, warm water stirring to mix well then set aside for 3 minutes.

Add oil and flour and stir until dough forms and the whole flour is absorbed. Place on a flat surface and knead for 8 minutes.

Divide dough into 4 balls and using a rolling pin roll each ball into a 9 inch circle.

In four 9 inch pans spread (oil for pan) in each pan, evenly.
Place the dough circles in each pan and brush outer edge of dough with oil.

Cover with plate and place in a warm area, allowing dough to rise for 45 minutes to one hour (until each dough circle has doubled).

Place all the sauce ingredients together and blend into a smooth paste. Set aside. Preheat oven to 470 F/ 247 C.

Spoon 1/2 cup of sauce on each dough circle and spread to within 1” of edge.

Distribute 60 grams of mixed mozzarella and cheddar cheese on top of the sauce.

Place toppings of your choice on top of the cheese then sprinkle 40 grams of the mixed cheeses again.

Place in oven until cheese is bubbling and outer crust is brown. Cut the pizza into six slices and serve hot.
