Subject : Shoaib Malik announces retirement from Test Creicket
Shoaib Malik, the Pakistan allrounder and former captain, has announced that the current Test match against England at Sharjah will be his last.

In a shock announcement at the close of the third day's play, an emotional Malik, 33, said that the "time was right" to move on, only three matches after his five-year exile from the Test team had come to an end.

His decision came out of blue as he arrived at the end-of-day press conference with a piece of paper in his hand. The team's assistant manager informed the media that, before taking questions, "Shoaib want to say something".

His team-mates were also caught unawares. Mohammad Hafeez, talking to the host broadcaster outside the team dressing-room, was shocked when asked to give his reaction and Mushtaq Ahmed, Pakistan's spin bowling coach, was also taken by surprise.

"I am taking retirement from Test cricket and this is my last Test," Malik said in his statement. "I would like to thank my family, cricket board, my team-mates and my supporting staff as they have supported me all the way along. I think it's the right time to quit this format and I want to focus on the upcoming 2019 World Cup."

However, his scores have fallen away since then, with scores of 0, 2, 7, 38 and 0 in his next five innings, the latest duck coming on Tuesday as he was trapped lbw first-ball by a big inswinger from James Anderson.

Malik has played his part with the ball in this match in particular. He returned his best Test figures of 4 for 33 in 9.5 overs as England were bowled out for 306 in their first innings.

Will miss you Shoaib, called it a bit early as Misbah and Younis are nearing to the same. Definitely you would have been in need after them. So better to call it from cricket ground while playing than away from it.

Good Bye Shoaib Malik ! It's a bit shocking decision but, it's better to get out by self than selectors say get out. Fans will always remember you as an Exciting Cricketer in all formats, Hard Hitting Batsman, Excellent Fielder & a Handy Bowler. Moreover, you've shown some good characters on the field with your humbleness never shown aggression or emotions even in celebrations as well as never seen being involved in altercation within the team or with against team.

You're a Cricketer many of your fans will remember & miss you on the cricketing battlefield.

Best of Luck for other formats.

Malik's best bowling figures in Tests. Making his comeback after 5 years, his best with bat (245) also came in this series.

This is a very good decision. His 245 was not depicting his real test caliber. He will be 37 in the next World Cup. His fielding in this test is evident of his focus in this format. He can't commit to 5 day cricket. His decision is super correct for him and country. Making way for YK and Azhar and a genuine opener and restoring the team balance. I wish he plays 50 overs game for Pakistan as well as he's played recently. After Misbah, he's needed there. I hope Younis Khan gets the right tip from this and decides to retire from 50 overs cricket.

If Malik is really serious about playing for Pakistan in next world cup in 2019 he should participate with any of English county cricket in the coming session, this will add experience to his kitty.

Malik was hired as spinner but due to his batting skills he initially got the reason to exclude Saqlain than later he was being considered as allroindere so the next man he set out was Azhar mehmood than he was all sudden started being considered as specialist batsman so he set out yousaf out this time.. In the end some genius mind thought he is a genuine opener so let's try him as opener and de this the vivid were Nasir gamers butt Hafeez and many more ...

7/59 Bowling figures of Shoaib Malik (4/33 & 3/26) in this match are his best in Tests and the best by a Pak player in his career's last Test match.

I say Shoaib Malik should be the Man of the Match as it was his spin that spun the match yesterday in Pakistan's favor and most importantly it'll be a great farewell for him!
