This is a common misconception in our country, and yours is not the first thread which has been started due to that misconception. So we better clarify things. Astronomy is the science of planets, asteroids, comets, stars and their clusters, nebulae, galaxies - everything in outer space. It is a SCIENCE and it is what this forum is about. Astrology aka "Yeh hafta kesa rahay ga?" is the belief that certain constellations (which we Pakistanis call "stars") affect happenings on the Earth. This is the exact opposite of astronomy (which is a science), and dates back from the times when people used to worship the Sun, Moon and the stars. They used to think these heavenly bodies controlled happenings on the Earth just as we Muslims believe Allah Pak has full control over everything in this universe. To sum it up: ASTRONOMY is NOT the same as ASTROLOGY. This forum is about the science of astronomy, NOT the fake beliefs of astrology. Thank you for your attention.
