Subject : Anti Poverty Drive- Reduce Poverty
Anti-Poverty Drive: Reduce Poverty & Create Employment for Old Age People The Problem: When people are young, healthy and effectively employed to make money for themselves, they mostly don’t think what will be their future after retirement and just ignore future planning in most cases. In their young ages, people usually don’t save money but when they become old or find themselves being retired after prolonged employment, they come to realize the importance of saving money and future planning. In a nutshell, it’s all about significance of future planning considering your financial and social status in old ages as one must do something to secure his or her future after retirement. The Idea: Meant for both men and women, this idea needs the kind attention of government authorities as exact implementation of the same will bring up positive changes as far as reducing poverty is concerned. This idea proposes an exclusive vocational training program for those people crossing an age bracket from 35-40 years wherein expenses of providing the proposed training will be compensated by companies. According to proposed anti-poverty drive, governments must formulate a policy by making it mandatory for all companies and organizations to compensate the vocational training charges/fees when people cross their age limit of 35 or 40 years. This vocational training program will offer 3 months to 6 months courses in various occupational fields and trades for two years. Welfare organizations, CBO’s and NGO’s can also support those people who are interested in vocational training but have no jobs at this stage. Having essential training and skills in any of such trading, these old age people would be able to earn their livelihood and support their families when retired or lost their job in any part of their life. This will also enable them to somehow have a control the service charges for any repairing or maintenance work required at home like electric works, stonemasonry, and carpentry etc, because acquisition of these services from outside technicians has also become very expensive for low-income groups. By a well-defined and unchallengeable state law, it will be mandatory for each man and woman to get certificates/diploma through proposed exclusive vocational training programs offering many courses such as carpentry, masonry, motor mechanic, TV, computer, refrigerator, or AC repairing, nursing, baby care, teaching, cooking, beauty parlor, manual/web designing courses and courses for electrician etc. Utilizing this funded vocational program, people can also get training in two to four trading courses. Chiefly established by the state government all over the country, all training courses will be held in this vocational training centres after general duty timings i.e. 5 till 11 pm so that it could be attended by maximum number of people. Aforementioned is a workable idea which can be easily implemented in region or country of the world. The government of Pakistan must think over this proposal. All welfare organizations, CBO’s and NGO’s should invest in enhancing up the skills and capabilities of manpower instead of just distributing funds directly. Results: • It will be a revolution against poverty and unemployment. • It will provide chances for old age people to earn by utilizing their skills and technical knowledge they have acquired. • People will have good opportunities to have better lifestyle. • Better and purposeful utilization of leisure times in learning new skills and trades will be helpful for the overall economy. • Women will also be having equal opportunities to equip themselves with technical knowledge and experience, thus making them equally capable of supporting their families and leading their lives by their own. Quote I like to add more things into the aforementioned idea related with reducing the poverty ratio by enabling senior citizens to make their livelihood by their own easily. Further to this Idea, just after its successful implementation (soon after one or two year), each vocational training centre must organize seminar and award distribution program each year in their district/city/province. Along with some cash awards, soft interest-free loans will be provided to at least 25 to 100 top winners so that they could establish their own small business on the basis of their diploma/certificate acquired through participating in vocational training courses. And, they will be given full support by the government in establishing their own small business in the desired area. This will definitely result in effectively reducing the mounting ratio of unemployment and poverty. Rating: 5.0/5 (1 vote cast)
